One Year Anniversary – Imo Lawmakers pass Vote of Confidence in Assembly Leadership.

The Imo State House of Assembly, during plenary on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2023, passed a vote of implicit confidence in the leadership of the 10th assembly for successfully celebrating one year of purposeful legislation in the state
This followed the adoption of a motion of Urgent State Importance sponsored by the member representing Isu State Constituency, Hon Emeka Kingsley Ozuruigno.
Presenting the motion, Ozuruigbo who expressed satisfaction over the high quality of leadership of the House, commended its presiding and principal officers for displaying maturity, dexterity and professionalism in the discharge of their legislative duties within the period under review
According to Ozuruigbo, the 10th Imo House of Assembly was inaugurated on the 16th June, 2023, with the presiding officers – the Speaker and his Deputy elected simultaneously as provided by the House Rule, while other principal officers were nominated by their respective political parties to aide legislative functions.
The House Committee Chairman on Labour, Productivity,Civil Service And pension also commended the leadership and members of the House four ably passing 18 Bills and adopting 64 motion in just one year of it’s four years tenure of office, saying that the legislature actually performed creditably.
The lawmaker further attributed the superlative performance of the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, to the harmonious relationship existing between the Executive and Legislative arms of government in the state, urging the leadership of the House to sustain the tempo.
The motion which received overwhelming support of the House, was unanimously adooted without desenting voice.
The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu who conducted the plenary in the absence of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, congratulated the members of the the 10th Assembly for displaying what he described as a show of enormous competence within one year in office.
