IMHA. Hon Sam Osuji Inaugurated as C’ttee Chairman on Transport By Vivian Asika
Inaugurating the Chairman alongside Committee Members in his Office on Tuesday 5th December,2023, in the presence of the Deputy Clerk Mr. Austin Okubuike satisfied the extant rule.
In his remarks, the Chairman Hon. Sam Osuji noted that the Committee was very Important whether at the National or State Assembly.
He pointed out that no economy would survive without the transport sector.
According to him, it is important because of its nature and demand in the sense that there is nothing one can do today in Nigeria and Imo in particular without embracing that sector.
You can use it for your movement, courier. In all, transport is like life. It is one sector you cannot neglect and a must to do sector.
He however noted that if it is not well managed, it could lead to disaster in the system.
He said: “Primarily, the essence of every government is to protect lives and property. “And that is the importance of Constituting this Committee to oversee the sector.
In his contribution, a member of the Committee Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri and Chief Whip of the Legislature expressed Confidence in the Chairman, adding Chief Osuji would bring his wealth of knowledge to bear in living up to the expectations.
Nwaneri further called to mind, reminding that some states depend on Transport to drive the economy of their State.
