IMHA: Oil, Gas Committee Inspect ISOPADEC Secretariat on oversight duty

The newly inaugurated Standing Committee Members on Imo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Commission (ISOPADEC), Petroleum Sector on their first point of call visited the Complex to ascertain the administrative status of the parastatal.

Addressing the Staff and Management, the Chairman of the Committee Hon. Francis Osuoha and member representing Ohaji Egbema State Constituency disclosed that the committee was constituted with a view to underscore the importance of the relationship between the government, private Companies and the host committee in reference to the new PIA act 2021.

The lawmaker envisioned challenges but swiftly pointed out that the Committee would work in synergy with the stakeholders in the industry for a successful outing and surmount any challenge.

He said: “With the vision of the Share prosperity Government of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, we will institute transformative changes that will rejig the industry in the state and beyond.

Osuoha pointed out that the extant petroleum Act 2004 which was repealed as 2021 PIA Act made provisions and changes that will accommodate the private sector, stakeholders and host communities in the oil Producing Area.

He however charged the members of the Committee to march forward with determination and relentlessly, in pursuit of excellence in the discharge of their duties.

Other Committee Members who were on his entourage on the sport assessment tour included the Chief Whip Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri, member representing Oru East, Hon. Esile James Ubah, member Onuimo, and Hon. Ben Ozoemena Ehime State Constituencies respectively
