Imo Commissioner Egemba bags award, restates Commitment to partnering with Media

The Commissioner for Tourism Barr. Jerry Egbule Egemba was on Saturday 16th December, 2023 honoured by Mbano Journalists Association (MJA) with an award of Excellence as the Most outstanding Personality of the Year 2023.

Presenting the award, the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Kelechi Uzoma recalled that the award was meritorious. adding that Barr. Egemba has made Mbano Nation proud as a Consistent and prudent government appointee.

According to him, you are being honoured today due to your consistency and immense contributions to the Ministry of Tourism and your efforts towards advancement peace and unity in Mbano at large. You have changed the narratives in the Ministry since the inception of your office as the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism and as a result of that, we the Mbano Journalists are proud to call you our own. We are pleased to bestow you this honour as an encouragement for more work.

In his remarks, the recipient expressed surprised over the acknowledgement because according to him, i only focus on the mandate given to me by the Governor of the State Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to serve in the capacity as the Commissioner for Tourism, i never realized that some people were seeing beyond that.
He said: “I am only serve according to the mandate given to me by the Governor as well as demonstrating inert desire to always serve and to put smiles on the faces of the pepole.” It’s like being myself any place, anytime and at my age it is very difficult to change my lifestyle.

“I want to thank you most sincerely that you have today challenged my mental capacity to think beyond what my eyes, perhaps can see. “I feel so passionate about this because you are my people from Mbano Nation as Journalists, you are the eyes of the people, you are the frontline Journalists and Media Practitioners that Mbano can be proud of. “You are active vibrant ones in the field who practice Journalism. “You are the foot soldiers of the Media Practitioners.
“You belong to the world of most cerebral and classic Investigative Journalism and that is the reason i maintain a good relationship with you. “This is indeed an honour to me. “These crop of Journalists share the same blood with me. “I pray God to bless you abundantly in your calling in Jesus Name, Amen.

Egemba therefore urged the Journalists to always be focused in their chosen career and be conscious of themselves, adding that distraction is the handiwork of the enemies and detractors. He however likened himself to a focused man and sincerity.

Adding his voice, Dr. Hilary Ibeh applauded the Organization for Champion the peace and unity of Mbano Nation.

Ibeh averred that the members of the fourth of the realm have records and knowledge of every personality in the Society.
According to him, projecting one of your own is one of the avenues of familiarization. If not for this gathering, I wouldn’t have known you.
He however promised to support the cause in his little capacity.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs Chidi Awaeze and few other Staff of the Ministry were also present during the Presentation.
