Encomium on Opia as Abacheke celebrates Cultural day

Encomium continued to pour on the former Minister of State for Education Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opia as the Abacheke Osiche Community in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State celebrated her Cultural day with the Luncheon of the School he attracted.
The ceremony which incorporated the Educational Endowment Fund raising held on 30th of December,2023 at Community Primary School, Abacheke Egbema.
The former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly who was the Special Guest of Honour during the Abacheke Osiche Cultural day Celebration, 2023 lauded for his Skillful leadership in the Oil Kingdom
In his address, Engr. Agwata Dandison, Chairman of the Cultural day Celebration pointed out that numerous privileges and facilities experienced in Abacheke Osiche were credited to Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opia.
According to him, Abacheke Osiche has never had it so good and pleasant as we are presently experiencing.
He said: “Our sons and daughters have been elevated to higher Social status, “our women and traders have been empowered with huge financial resources, students are enjoying privileges of scholarship in different strata of Education both in Nigeria and overseas.
“We have also witnessed the building, Completion and furnishing of federal junior Secondary School, Abacheke. “A federal Polytechnic has also been attracted to our door step for our Children, “Road Projects have been attracted, Constructed and Completed.
“All these and many innumerable act of skillful leadership, kindness and compassion are credited to our dear brother,Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opia, the immediate past Minister of Education”.
In his Speech, the Coordinator, Egbema North Local Government Development Area, and Chairman of the Occasion Hon. Obinna Tony Ariaga expressed appreciation to Rt. Hon. Opia for attracting developmental projects to Abacheke especially School. While acknowledging him for raising the School to a suitable standard, he called on other leaders and stakeholders in the area to join hands to equipping the School.
According to him, this School our leader, Rt. Hon. Opia started in our land, there are other add ons required like generating set, we need teachers’ quarters, we need to buy land to erect hostels for students.
This necessitated the incorporation of this “one hundred Million Naira (N100,000,000) Educational Endowment Fund Raising” into this year’s Abacheke Osiche Day Celebration.
He said: “things needed for academic exercise are complete but some features to be more comfortable are in great need”
He urged the guests to support the School Project for the sake of humanity.
A close Associate of the former Minister, Chief Larry Okoro, the Ogwumba of Nkwesi in Oguta L.G.A.observed that the highpoint of the Occasion which was the Luncheon of the School attracted by Rt. Hon. Nanah Opia as the Minister of State for Education.
He noted that the poor are the most beneficiaries of the School, adding that the donor would ensure its maintenance both the teachers and the facilities therein.
Chief Larry However advised the Community to take its security as priority against vandalization by villains.
While expressing joy, Rt. Hon. Nanah Opia noted that the day has been set aside for Celebration of the Community but included the Fund raising initiative.
According to him, the plan was to raise funds to enhance Education, award Scholarships to best performing Students and develop the Community.
He explained that the target of the Fund is one hundred Million Naira just as he hope to get more and actualize the dream.
He therefore thanked the Federal Government for assisting him to attract such projects to his Community.
