Major Emenike reappointed as Commissioner …promises to do more for posterity

The immediate past Commissioner for Environment, Barr. Major Emenike Ejikeme Chuks has been reappointed as Commissioner designate in the present administration of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Major Emenike who was among the Commissioner Nominees sent to the House of Assembly by the Governor for screening and confirmation passed the exercise during the plenary on Thursday 7th March, 2024.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after his confirmation, Barr. Emenike stated that the reappointment was due to his performance in the last administration, hoping that if given the same portfolio, he would continue to render same quality service to Imo State.

He commended the Governor in the area of Infrastructural development and other sections of governance, saying that the he has done well in his first term. This is even as he expressed confidence that the Number citizen of the state would do more in this second tenure.

According to him, the governor has been doing well from his first tenure and in this second tenure he will do more above the expectations of Imolites. He did very well in his first tenure.

Reacting on the erosion menace in the state, he noted that it is not a distinctive case to Imo State but other parts of the south east like Anambra, etc.

According to him, I was a Commissioner for about 12 months but we were able to solve some erosion menace in the state. The one in Ogwa is on going and the Onuimo is also in the same plan . Ugiri Ike and Ideator are Federal government project which the state can’t carry though there is a synergy between the state and Federal government to embark on the project. The one at Ugiri nna will soon be handled in no distant time.
