Mothering Sunday: Amb. Ijeoma Obiezu, Hon. Nnadozie win Excellence honour
As the Women’s Missionary Union, First Baptist Church celebrated their 2024 Mother’s day, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs Ijeoma Arimanwa Obiezu and Hon. Nnadozie Chukwuemeka Fortunatus received Special awards of Excellence as “Ideal Mother” and “Unique Achiever” respectively.
The Church which celebrated this year’s Mother’s day on Sunday 12th May, 2024 with the theme: “Mothers as Peace seekers” had activities like drama presentation, award of honour to personalities, recognition of service to church members among other programs.
Presenting the Award to Her Excellency Dr. Mrs Ijeoma Obiezu who was the former Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland with concurrent accreditation to Iceland, the presenter, Mrs Ijeoma Ejiogu who is the Chairman, Organizing Committee stated that the honour was in recognition of her contribution and Support to God and humanity.
The Ambassador who was represented at the occasion by Lady Prisca Durueke, Barr. Vivian Otti and Mr. Alex Ibeh expressed joy over the honour even as she appreciated the women for taking note of her activities.
Obiezu further assured the church that through her Organization, “Tresha Aid Foudation,” she would continue to assist especially in the area of women empowerment and upliftment of the downtrodden.
Another personality who bagged a “Unique Achiever of the year 2024” award was Hon. Hon. Nnadozie Chukwuemeka Fortunatus .
He is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO), Imo State and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Chemistry.
Hon. Nnadozie was represented by a close associate Nwanedo Basil appreciated the Women and expressed gladness over the award.
He said: “I am glad that i was chosen to be honoured today. “I sincerely appreciate God”.
