The reappointment of Barr. Sir Major Emenike as the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation has been described as a round peg in a round hole by the Staff of the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary Chukwuma Iheanacho made this remarks while the Commissioner was addressing workers who converged in his (Emenike) Office to receive him with Songs and Jubilation.
This is contained in a Press release signed by the Public Relation Officer Vivian Onwuka O. and made available to Daily Star Newsonline. In the release, the Permanent Secretary while thanking God for the gift of an indefatigable Commissioner eulogized the State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for his magnanimity and wisdom in reappointing Major Emenike to the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation.
In his response, Major Emenike thanked the Governor His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma for finding him worthy to be reappointed just as he described the merger of the Ministry with that of the Ministry of Sanitation and Hygiene, adding that it was a right step in the right direction.
He therefore urged the Ministry’s workforce to be diligent in the discharge of their duties as well embrace the mantra of the present administration.
The highpoint of the event was the praise and worship session by the Staff for the return of the Commissioner.
