Council election: Polycap Onuoha declares Councillorship intention in Azuzii 3, Owerri Municipal

It was a gathering of the All Progressives Congress, APC stalwarts at Azuzii Ward 3 Community (Azuzii Ward 3) in Owerri Municipal Council as the Councillorship Aspirant, Prince Polycap Onuoha popularly known as “Personnel” officially declared his intention to run.

The Campaign flagg off ceremony which took place at the party new office on 5th July 2024 also attracted the Hausa Community, Mechanic Village, New Market and West end chapter, other Market men and women, residents as well as indigene of the area.

Declaring his intention amidst the mammoth crowd who throng in to witness the event, Hon. Polycap Onuoha called upon his better half(wife) as he bared his mind on running for the Councillorship election in the ward.

While thanking Azuzii Ward 3 for their support, he promised never to disappoint them.
According to him, I will not disappoint you. I will serve you and ensure to represent you effectively and efficiently at the Council. If by the Grace of God we win this election, we will all get what we want in good faith.

Speaking earlier while presenting Hon. Polycap Onuoha to the party, Hon. Chinedu Mbah recalled that no chapter in Azuzii Ward 3 had gone twice, insisting that the ward has a rotational arrangement which according to him has been favourable to every division in the ward.

He said: ” There are 5 chapters in Azuzii Ward 3, the first chapter was Mechanic Village, followed by Emmanuel College, New Market, West end and Ama Hausa chapter.” “And since the inception Azuzii Ward 3, we arranged it in such a way that from the administration of Governor Ikedi Ohakim in PDP, New Market produced the Councillor. After the new market, we had Emmanuel College chapter under the administration of Rochas Okorocha. Under the Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma, a Councillor was produced from the Mechanic Village. “Now, this is for West end chapter to produce the Councillor for Azuzii Ward 3 for the representation at the Municipal Council come 21st September 2024 in the person of Hon. Polycap Onuoha popularly known as “Personnel”. “We go Councillorship here one by one and not twice, we have an understanding”

Prince Evans Anozie who aspires to contest for Owerri Municipal Championship position spoke with newsmen shortly after the event extolled the qualities of Hon. Polycap Onuoha, describing him as a vibrant young man and a Loyalist.
According to him, I am giving him my support because he is very close to me and he came to me earlier to inform me of his intention to run for the position of Councillorship and I gave him my blessing.
Speaking on his aspiration to run for Chairmanship, Anozie expressed optimism to win the Mayor of the Municipality.
He pointed out that his intention to contest was borne out of desires to correct some ills in the area.
He said:”I want to stop street trading in Owerri Municipal. “There is no loading plan in the city, I will create parks that will ensure orderliness.” “There will be bus stops at the strategic places and put street lights that will improve security of lives and property.”

On his part, the Chairman of all ward Chairmen, APC, Hon. Chuka Ihejieto thanked the party faithful in Azuzii Ward 3 for coming out en mass to encourage Polycap to run for the Councillorship position.

He noted that other aspirants are good and have their individual capabilities but the poll would decide the fate of any candidate.

On his part, the Municipal Council party Chairman Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim described the declaration as well attended by the leaders and party faithful.
