Hope rises for Mbano Assembly as Coaster Bus fund raising records Success

Hope to raise 40 Million Naira for the purchase of Coaster Bus by Mbano People’s Assembly (MPA) advanced as the Fund raising event which coincided with her 11th Anniversary was successful.
This year’s Commemoration with the theme: “Building Bridges of Hope and Progress in Mbano” held in Owerri, Imo State on Saturday 28th September, 2024 attracted dignitaries from Mbano and beyond as red carpet preceded the main event
In his address, the Chairman of the MPA Owerri branch, Comrade Anselem Njoku solicited the support of eminent sons and daughters of Mbano to donate for the purchase of the coaster Bus, adding that it would ease the transportation cost for the members and other Mbano indigene in difficult times especially, Christmas season.
Comrade Njoku used the occasion to thank some notable sons of Mbano especially, Chief Tony Chukwu for using his relationship with the Presidency and State Government to attract some developmental and infrastructural projects to the area like Roads and other amenities.
He also lauded the State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for Constructing Owerri Okigwe Road and appointment of her sons and daughters into key positions.
He recalled that Mbano People’s Assembly which was founded in September 2013, eleven years ago by Comrade Obi Stanley through the facebook platform has recorded a huge success.
According to him, today, the Facebook platform has more than 89k members and more than 15,000 members in 12 States of the Federation. Owerri branch is leading in the country which about 1,000 members who have remained committed owing to the quality of its leadership.
He said: “In April, 2021, we offered free medical outreaches at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Umuezeala Owerri in Ehime Mbano as 452 persons attended and they were offered free Malaria, Hepatitis, Sugar, BP, Tuberculosis, HIV test and free treatment through our members who are Doctors, Pharmacists, Medical laboratory Scientist and Nurses.
“Another medical outreach at Amaraku Central School and also offered free Medical treatment with free eye glasses which cost the Association a Whooping some of 2.5 Million”.
He therefore highlighted several other achievements of the Association in other areas too numerous to mention.
He further called for the unity and peace of Mbano leadders for the development of Okigwe like other zones; Orlu and Owerri.
Delivering a lecture during the event, the Chief Patron of the Association, Mr. Chibuzor Innocent Awurum pointed out that a Journey towards sustainable development and progress in Mbano needed a collective effort to build bridges of hope that connects the people to opportunities, resources, and a shared vision of prosperity.
He added that the people ought to harness the unique potential through human capacity building, entrepreneurship, Agricultural Innovation, and unity in the rapidly currently changing world.
Speaking to our Correspondent, the Royal Father of the day, His Royal Majesty Eze Dan Emereonye, Egwelle 1 of Egwelle Kingdom and Chairman Ehime Mbano Council of Traditional Ruler described the occasion as a bridge-builder that would further strengthen the Traditional Institution of the area.
Also speaking, Mr. Felix O. Ndubuisi said the Association was a veritable platform to develop Mbano general nay Okigwe like other zones in the State.
In his remark, the Organizing Committee Chairman of the MPA 11th Anniversary, Engr. Chidera Confidence Elechukwu who spoke with our Correspondent shortly after the occasion thanked the Committee for their relentlessness and courage to put the event together, saying that it wouldn’t had been a success without the efforts and contributions of the steering Committee and entire members of the Association, the Mbano People’s Assembly.
According to him, our mission is to bring unity and development to Mbano by pulling our energy and resources together through this noble Organization.
