Council Chairman: fmr NJaba SOLAD Obikaeze officially hands over to Etiokwe

It was a joyous day and sweet memories as the People of Njaba Local government Area, Imo State throng to the Council Headquarters, Nnenasaa in solidarity with the Former Sole Administrator (SOLAD) of the area Hon. Nze Obikaeze Anaemem for the official handover ceremony to the Executive chairman of the Council ,Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi popularly known Etiokwe Njaba.

The event which commenced with the Commissioning of the Umueze/Nkume Health Center with a visit at the Comprehensive Primary Health Center built by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria(ALGON), Nkume which the SOLAD pleaded with the new Chairman to ensure that his administration to make it functional in order not to allow the place overgrown with buses and become a security threat.

At the opening ceremony of the Umueze/Nkume Health Center, Obikaeze stated that the revival of the Health Center was in line with the 3R mantra of the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on his commitment to improving the Healthcare and well-being of Njaba people.
He urged the people and healthcare workers and staff to continue to invest in the healthcare infrastructure.
In his handover speech, the former SOLAD expressed delight and joy for the opportunity given to him to serve Njaba people.

While thanking the State Governor for attracting some developmental projects to the local government during his reign, he disclosed that it was a privilege for him to change the face of the headquarters for good.
He averred that his achievements cut across healthcare services, Security, Education for the less privileged, youth empowerment and human capital development.

He however promised to continue to contribute his experience to aid the new Chairman for the growth and development of the area.

In his inaugural speech, the new Chairman, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi described his emergence as a clear testimony of the confidence the people of Njaba reposed in him, saying that the election into the office was a clear affirmation of the call to give the best to the people of Njaba

Etiokwe Njaba who thanked the Governor, Senator. Hope Uzodimma for his support and love for Njaba throughout the electioneering period to emerge.

He promised to run an all-inclusive government. He used the occasion to call on other Aspirants to join hands to develop the Council, adding that his vision through the pivot of 7 points agenda termed SHE-WARI Agenda, which presents the pillars of the administration as Security, Health, Education, Women and Youth Empowerment, Agriculture, Rural Development and Industrialization would kick off immediately.

According to him, this is the right time to begin the full implementation of the vision for our Local Government and my team will ensure that there is full consultation with the leaders and the right action plan enlisted for immediate implementation of the 7-point agenda. I call on all, the legislative arm, and the people of Njaba, to support our government to deliver on the progressive programs and to marshal out productive programs for the good of Njaba people.

He said: “I call for an effective synergy with the Legislative House of Njaba LGA, assuring the independence of the legislature, but upholding cooperation that will strengthen the checks and balances’ role as enshrined in the constitution. Effective interface will enrich our polity and enrich our democratic culture.”

“The traditional rulers of Njaba will continue to receive special recognition and integration in the current administration’s programs and I urge them to draw closer and help us realise cultural renaissance and development of identity of our people with selfless counsel. I trust in your capacity as the royal fathers and symbol of our rich culture. Likewise, the Presidents General will continue to be recognised as their service to the people must be encouraged.”

“The Local Government staff will form a strong instrument to drive the agenda of this government, I emphasize that you are central in my vision and the implementation of the set agenda.”

“Due process is an operator that will give nobility to our agenda and it is my wish that our program shall be anchored on the tenets of due process.”

Speaking with our Correspondent, the Councillor representing Amucha ward, Hon. Chigozie Ibenjo (Abana Foundation) stated his avowed intent to contribute to the growth of his ward and the local government in general.

Leaders present at the event included former member, Njaba State Constituency, Rt.Hon. Uju Onwudiwe, the HOD Health NJaba LGA Mrs. Mgbereke Beatrice, Counselor Nkume ward, Hon Nwadike Munachiso Valentine among other Councillors and leaders of the area
