Abana emerges NJaba Council leader amidst Jubilation

Tuesday, the 15th day of October, 2024 will remain evergreen in the minds of NJaba People as Hon. Chigozie Ibenjo, popularly known as Ababa, representing Amucha Ward 1 emerged the Leader of 7th Session of NJaba Council Legislative arm while Hon. Adikibe Protus, representing Umuaka Ward II was elected as the Deputy Leader.
The Council Clerk, Mr. Frank Anyiam who earlier presided over the legislative business of the 7th Session
to elect the Leader and his Deputy read the Governor’s Proclamation.
Rt. Hon. Ibenjo, on assumption of duty announced the position of
Majority Leader and Chief Whip as Hon. Justice Chibuike Kalu representing Atta Ward 1 and Hon. Pstr. Divine Lebechi of Okwudor Ward respectively.
Speaking with our Correspondent, Ibenjo expressed appreciation to God for the possibility to win and be sworn in as the Leader of the Council
While appreciating the State Governor for bringing Governance to the grassroots, he thanked the leaders and legislative colleagues for their support and vote to emerge as the leader of NJaba legislative Council.
He promised to bring his wealth of experience to bear in ensuring that the Executive achieves success in the area.
According to him, I and my colleagues have the sole interest to work in synergy with the Executive Chairman to move NJaba forward.
The Deputy Adikibe Protus who added his voice pledged to compliment the efforts of the leader.
The Majority Leader, Hon. Chibuike Kalu stated that as the taskmaster of the Council, he would not relent in ensuring the smooth running of the Council for the benefit of entire NJaba local government.
Speaking also, the Immediate past Sole Administrator (SOLAD) of the Council Hon. Obikaeze Anaemem thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for his commitment to making the day a reality, adding that the elected Councillors made a wise choice in electing Rt. Hon. Chigozie Ibenjo as the Leader of the Council.
Obikaeze described Abana as a focused and dedicated leader, just as he reposed confidence in him to deliver.
The Chairman of the local government Area, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, popularly known as Etiokwe in the company of his Deputy, Hon. Mrs Rhoda Ukam, present during the swearing in ceremony.
Others present included, Hon. Chief Ozioma Bennett Worship Ebonine, member representing Njaba State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Amb. Dr Uju onwudiwe, former member Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Dan Onumara, APC chairman of Njaba Local Government Area, Hon. Kacee Njepuome, Former APC chairman Njaba Local Government Area, Dr Barth Okorochukwu, Former commissioner, Chief Bon Nnaka, former TC chairman, Chief Kenneth Obioha, former Executive Chairman Njaba Local Government Area, Barr. Emenike Uzor, SLA to Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike, among others.
Thereafter, the Council adjourned till Thursday 24th October, 2024 for next sitting.
