Princess Duruji, others bid farewell to Iwuanyanwu …says Igboland ‘ll miss him

On Friday 1st November, 2024, Nigerians both at home and in diaspora gathered at Atta Ikuduru Local government Area of Imo State to bid farewell to a Colossus and Philanthropist par Excellence, Late Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo,
Princess Mrs. Adadiohama Kate Nneoma Duruji who was among the distinguished personalities in attendance to mourn the exit and also pay their last respect to the fallen President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide who was Committed to mother earth at his Compound, Umuohii, Atta Ikuduru after a funeral Service at the St. Matthew Cathedral.
Speaking with Newsmen shortly after the Interment at the Compound, Princess Duruji said the people of Atta Ikuduru, Imo State and Igbos, and Nigeria in general would miss the nice gestures of the giant Iroko.
The Adadiohama described Iwuanyanwu as a man who made a global input in various areas of life endeavours which according to her included Aviation, Manufacturing, Sports, Media, Engineering, Politics among others.
According to her, a lot of people have benefited from him right from his home town Atta, in Ikuduru, Imo State and Nigeria in general.
“He brought many developmental projects to Imo State, he gave employments to
Imo indigene and beyond, gave succour to a lot of people. He lived a life worthy of emulation. I encourage the younger generation to borrow a leaf from his sojourn on earth, ” she recalled.
While describing the Ahaejiagamba as the father of the fatherless, she noted that Chief Iwuanyanwu would lead anyone to a better place in life.
Earlier during the homily, the Prelate of Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, described Iwuanyanwu as a courageous leader who had always spoken out in defense of Ndigbo, urged the family to remain united as it’s the only way to preserve the legacies of their late father.
The cleric further reminded those in leadership positions that responsibility requires accountability.
Meanwhile, it was a roll call of who is who in the country at the funeral service as dignitaries from across the country and political divides were in attendance.
Some of the dignitaries were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume who represented President Tinubu; 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi; National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje; and former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara.
