IMHA Passes Motion for Government’s Intervention in Ikeduru to Ahiazu Mbaise bad Road

The Imo State House of Assembly has passed a motion to direct the Commissioner in-charge of Works to conduct a thorough assessment of the roads in Ikeduru with a view to rehabilitating and reconstructing the routes leading Atta, Inyishi, Amaimo, Ugirike bridge to Obohia Afor Oru in Ahiazu Mbaise local government Area.

The Chief sponsor of the motion was Hon. Johnleoba Iheoha, member representing Ikeduru State Constituency and co Sponsored by 16 other members.
Moving the Motion during plenary on Tuesday, Iheoha was very emotional.as he recounted how the condition of the road resulted to criminality over the years.

The Miri N’ Ezoro oha of Ikeduru noted that the people of Ikeduru and its environs have suffered untold hardship in the dilapidated nature of the roads in view.
According to him, that road has been very bad to the extent that it has become a hiding place for bandits, especially the Ugirike bridge, you could see a serious gully there. It has made it very difficult to cross to Ahiazu Mbaise and coming from ukwu orji to Atta Junction, Inyishi, Obohia, Afor Oru to Airport, it has become unmotorable, when it would have served as a bypass of Owerri Municipality.
He observed that the 3R mantra Administration of Senator Hope Uzodimma has made significant strides in infrastructural development and healthcare sector, highlighting Owerri-Okigwe, Owerri-Orlu, Owerri-Umuahia, Sam Mbakwe Airport and MCC, Opera Anozie roads

Others include Health centers in the three zones, Imo State College of Nursing Sciences, Midwifery and Specialist Hospital in Inyishi Ikeduru and Merit College of Nursing Sciencess and Midwifery.
The motion which drew sympathetic attention from colleagues expressed concern over the dilapidated state of the roads.
Among the supporters of the motion included members representing Mbaitoli and Nkwere State Constituencies Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie and Hon. Chisom Ojukwu respectively.
Lending his voice during debate, Hon. Ikpamezie lamented that the road linked to his Constituency Mbaitoli, urging his colleagues to support the passage of the motion for its quick intervention.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, and member representing Ihitte Uboma State Constituency while putting the resolution on voice vote as the “Aye” voice was louder, afterwards passed the motion, just as he directed the clerk to transmit the resolution of the House to the Governor for his assent.

Speaking with the House Correspondence in his office, shortly after the Plenary, Hon. Iheoha expressed confidence that the State Governor would harken to the plight of Ikeduru constituents.
